I'm Tyler with Mallick Plumbing and Heating. Today, we're here to talk about the Flo by Moen device. Flo by Moen Smart Water Valve, or Flo for short, is installed on your house's main water supply and plugs into the nearest outlet. It's designed to monitor the water supply system for any irregularities, including any types of leak.

If the device detects any types of leaks or pressure changes in the water supply, it will alert you via your smartphone. It can text you, email you, however you set it up, phone call. From there, if you don't respond to the alerts, it will automatically shut the water supply off to your house. So if there is a leak, it could save your property from extensive damages.

On an initial startup of the unit, it takes about a two-week time frame for the unit to learn your habits and learn the uses of water that you're used to using. And then based off that information is how it determines when an irregular use of water pressure, flow rate occurs.

Also, less serious leaks like a toilet running, the Moen Flo can detect that and save you from a high water bill. If this is something that you're interested in, give Mallick Plumbing and Heating a call and we'd be happy to send somebody out to install one and also help you set it up with your smart device.
